CorSalud is an electronic journal dedicated to cardiovascular diseases. It is the official journal of "Ernesto Che Guevara" Cardiology hospital, a center for the tertiary care of these diseases in the central region of Cuba. It is subordinated to the Cuban Society of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery. It publishes articles in Spanish and English on a quarterly basis on all aspects of cardiovascular health and disease.

The objective of CorSalud is to disseminate the scientist´s results of health professionals linked to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases anywhere in the world, giving priority to the central region of Cuba.

Authors can publish original and brief articles, review articles, images in cardiology, case reports and letters to the editor. Editorials and special articles are solicited by the Editorial Board.

CorSalud only accepts manuscripts that have neither been previously published nor evaluated for publication elsewhere; this implies a great responsibility on the part of the authors. The selection of material for publication is based on the degree of interest for most professionals, scientific soundness, originality, topicality and timeliness of information, the seriousness in addressing the issue, its drafting and compliance of medical ethics.

CorSalud meets the certification requirements for science and technology serial publications provided in section three, article 20 of Resolution No. 59/2003 of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba.

Peer Review Process

All contributions will be evaluated by peer reviewers appointed by the Editors. CorSalud follows a policy of peer review of scientific papers submitted by authors. This review process protects, in all cases, authors and reviewers and has a special care with the ethical standards set to avoid conflicts of interest.

Manuscripts are reviewed anonymously by two and sometimes three experts. The whole process of review will be blind. In no time the arbitrators will have knowledge about the institution of origin of the article or the authors. The Editorial Board of the Journal reserves the right to refuse articles not deemed suitable for publication.

Before the publication of the article, authors will be notified by e-mail to review the galley proofs and report the magazine whether there are mistakes in the text.

Accepted manuscripts will become the property of CorSalud and therefore partial or total publication in another journal must be approved by the Editor. However, CorSalud has adopted the policy of open access scientific publishing (see Open Access).
